Peteet and Ambra
Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues,
For the last five years, Dr. John Peteet, professor at Harvard Medical School, has asked me to speak to his class, “Spirituality in Medicine” in order to explain and answer questions about Christian Science treatment. Two years ago, he asked me to join him and several others in writing a book—“The Soul of Medicine: Spiritual Perspectives and Clinical Practice” — on the role that spirituality plays in healing. I was asked to write the chapter on Christian Science (about 24 pages). Thank you to all those who helped review it or contribute to it.
After two years of back and forth with the publisher (The Johns Hopkins University Press), the book has now appeared in print. Several of you were aware it was being published and asked to be notified when it was available. I thought others might simply be interested to know about it.
Dr. Peteet and Dr. D’Ambray, the primary authors, have sent me the attached flyer describing the book and offering a discount in case any of our family, friends or colleagues were interested in purchasing a copy for themselves or to share with people in the medical field or from other religious traditions. If you decide to purchase and read it, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
